Who Wrote  the Book

Yup, guilty... It’s me, Samantha. I wrote the book from my bed, fuelled by coffee and sheer stubbornness, and yes, I even put on makeup so I look slightly more ‘author’ and slightly less ‘pyjama goblin.

Woman with pink hair, framed with the words "Dreamer" and "Believer".

I’m a neurodiverse mum, grandmother, and storyteller with complex physical disabilities, mostly bed bound or in my motorised wheelchair and battle a lifelong journey through mental health challenges.

For years, I struggled to feel like I truly belonged. Every job I held brought in money but never fulfilled the deeper yearning I carried inside.

That changed when I began educating myself about neurodiversity, not just for me, but for my children, especially my daughter Meg and our son Riley.

Though Riley is biologically our grandson, we’ve raised him since he was just two days old. By his own choice, he calls us Mummy and Dad, and we proudly call him our son.

They been a guiding light in our journey, helping us understand the world through a different lens.

Through college courses and lived experience, I’ve gained clarity, compassion, and a sense of purpose I’d never known before.

I’ve completed a range of qualifications with top grades, including:
•     Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Bullying in Children and Young People
•     Level 2 Certificate in Caring for Children and Young People
•     Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
•     Empowering Parents & 123 Magic
•     Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
•     Level 2 Certificate in Behaviour That Challenges in Children
•     Level 2 Certificate in Autism

These studies helped me understand not only my own needs, but how to support others with empathy and insight.

I began by writing stories just for Riley, and now I hope to share them with you, stories that bring comfort, offer support, and empower families navigating neurodiversity. My bedtime tales are written to soothe, help children regulate, and gently carry away the worries of the day.
